ALBA BALLET PRESENTS

COPPELIA

“Wonderful Talent, Amazing!”

Mary Teresa Burrows – Greenock

“Brilliant Show,
Loved Every Minute of it!”

Sheila Watt – Port Glasgow

Alba`s third production in November 2018 was Coppelia. Like The Nutcracker in 2014 and Cinderella 2016  we had two performances at the The Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock. As well as a performance at Barrfields in Largs which was added as a second venue for Cinderella 2016.

The company comprised of 27 members which included our male guest artist James Garrington who played the role of Franz our lead male. The role of Swanhilda was played by Elise Wilmot, with her sister India Wilmot being Coppelia. Doctor Coppelius was played by Joanna Crossan.

Due to having two venues for 2018 and the improvements we wanted to make on light and sound from previous years we embarked our own back stage crew who produced a fantastic customised set for the production. This along with  costumes from The Dance School of Scotland, helped set the scene for our production of Coppelai.

We were delighted that the 15 members of the company will remain with us  for Sleeping Beauty 2020. Naturally we are looking forward to working with them over the next couple of years along with new members who will complete the company for our next big production.
