The Nutcracker by Alba Ballet 2014. A journey that started way back in 2012 to give students the opportunity to take part in a full scale Classical Ballet production. The Nutcracker was performed over two nights to full houses at the The Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock.
The company comprised of 37 members which included our guest artists from London Erin O’Toole, and from Birmingham Tim Hill who played the roles the our lead male and females in our production. Both Tim and Erin brought a wealth of experience to the company, with both dancers performing many lead roles with English National Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet.
Clara was performed by Inverkip girl Hannah McLoughlin, and she was joined by Ellie Wood from Greenock(Elizabeth) and Aaron Lind from Glasgow(Fritz). Drosselmeyer the eccentric uncle was played by Greenock girl Elise Wilmot.
Clara was joined in The Nutcracker by Alba Ballet 2014 on her journey to the Land of the Sweets by Sian Waddell (Doll), Christine Tait (Spanish), Jayney Dinnie (Arabian), Mairi Macleod (Fairy), Emma Dunn (Chinese), Amy Hughes (Jack in the box), Sarah Arkley (Lead Soldier), Elizabeth McAlpine (Lady Stahbaurm), Anissa McKay (Mother Ginger) and Lottie Ptolomey (King Rat)
Our Corps De Ballet contained our remaining 21 members of Alba Ballet.
We are delighted that the majority of the company will remain together for Cinderella 2016, and we are looking forward to working with them over the next couple of years along with new members who will complete the company for our next big production.
