“Brilliant Show,
Loved Every Minute of it!”

Sheila Watt – Port Glasgow

Alba returned to the stage in November 2022 with The Nutcracker. After a gap of four years due to the pandemic which sadly saw Sleeping Beauty 2020 cancelled. Our initial journey began way back in 2014. Like The Nutcracker in 2014, Cinderella 2016 and Coppelia 2018 we had two performances at the The Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock. In addition to these performance we added a third performance at Queens Hall Dunoon. This was a brand new venue for  Alba Ballet.

The company comprised of 33 members which included our guest artist Pierre Giudicelli Probin who played the role of our lead male. The role of Sugar Plum fairy was shared by Dani Glover and Kirstin Burnett. Clara was played by Olivia McCabe.

Due to having two venues for 2018 and the improvements we wanted to make on light and sound from previous years we embarked our own back stage crew who produced a fantastic digital. This along with  costumes from The Dance School of Scotland, helped set the scene for our production of The Nutcracker.

We are delighted that the 17 members of the company will remain with us  for Cinderella 2024. We are looking forward to working with them over the next couple of years along with new members who will complete the company for our next big production.
